The
History of
Friends
of Platte County Parks & Recreation
The Friends of
Platte County Parks and Recreation was incorporated as a Public
Benefit Missouri Non-Profit in 2006. In early 2007, the Friends
group gained 501c3 status by becoming a part of the Northland
Community Foundation/Greater Kansas City Community Foundation.
Volunteers in
our Platte County community saw a need for raising awareness of the
Parks, Trails, Community Centers and other amenities that had been
developed since the citizens passed a 1/2 cent sales tax in the year
2000. We want every citizen to experience first hand the Premier
Parks and Amenities being developed right here in Platte County!
You will find a
list of parks, trails and recreational amenities you can enjoy in
Platte County on the Park Maps page of this
web site.
